Our great neighbors, Japan Electrical Vocational School (or, Nihon-Denshi), invited our students over for some special classes! They have buildings all over Okubo, so our students are quite familiar with them, and we've been friends with them for a long time!
As Japan is known for a country with lots of technology, Nihon-Denshi teaches people how to use technology in ways to benefit society.
To experience such ideas is quite touching, and gave our students some new ideas on how to progress in their future careers.
Of course, still plenty of fun to be had in the profession, like working with robots! These days, they can move and talk! Japan is still quite famous for their work with robotics.
Our students were also able to experience electronics down to a hardware level, and learn about machines.
Truly a great learning experience!
Of course, school is not only about teaching trade, but also on how to be a productive member of society, and Nihon-Denshi also gave our students that experience! On the second day, they studied Japanese business manners.
Business card culture is quite a big deal here, so we let students make their own cards and learn the nuances of exchanging cards.
Anyone who's spent enough time here know just how important these customs are!
We really appreciate Nihon-Denshi for inviting us over!
Fortunately, they still have something left for us!
It's not the end! Recently, a robot known as "Pepper" has been making the waves in Japan, a robot that you can communicate with! Perhaps in the next update, you'll see Pepper in action! Look forward to it!
