Once again, our good friends at Leopalace 21 have hosted an event for our students to play Japanese games! We're really appreciative of their efforts!
Similar to last time, we played Karuta and Fukuwarai.
Fukuwarai is a game where a person gets a face to decorate, but the decorator has to wear a mask and can't see anything, so their teammates tell them where to place the facial parts. It's a game of communication that can produce some interesting results!
Some of them better than others, perhaps!
The other game we played was Karuta!
Although recently the game has become popular due to the manga/anime/movie franchise "Chihayafuru", it has a long history in Japan and is played by everyone, from children to adults! It's a game where a poem is read aloud, and people have to search for a card that the poem is referring to. The person who grabs the card keeps it, and the one with the most cards wins!
It was a lot of fun! Thanks again to Leopalace 21 for inviting us to their office and hosting the games!
